We Don't Share Your Details With No-One

Double negative intended kids. Just browsing my personal Facebook Database Profile and came across an interesting conversation. There's more to it, but I wanted to pin-point the fact that there was a leak of information, probably through a badly constructed CRM software or something.

So I guess this would be a way of picking up random e-mail addresses or something. Not such a big deal, but hey, I bet some of these people wouldn't be happy knowing their address is being tossed about. Ah, so stupid.

Google Is Your Friend (sort of)

There's a website that we discovered over a year ago (though the site itself it much older) that has list of strings you can enter into a particular search engine to bring up a list of unsecured 'security' cameras that you can tap into. Its so easy.

How does it work? Well, with the Big G being as complex as it is, it accepts a bunch of special syntax when you search that lets you control the results you get back from it. Alot of people know the simple ones like using + and "" etc, but theres a whole bunch of them for various things. This time we're using the inurl argument that tells G to search for your string only in the url of the site. The rest is obvious.

Some of these are really good in that they can be controlled remotely, and the best ones have a guy sitting at the nerve centre with hardware controls as well. Have fun with these.

Ambient Intelligence Hacking

I'll be posting little bits and bobs I find that let you abuse the abusers. There's security, there's SIGINT and then there's Ambient Intelligence - a combination of the two that just shouldn't happen.

I don't endorse the act of theft, or fraud, or the virus. At the same time I don't endorse the way in which we are becoming reality stars of data-collecting parasites, sensors of consumption and international paranoia. We're becoming not just numbers in a database, but moving binary code that shifts and sorts according to preference and suggestion. Its a step in the wrong direction, and one that too many are willing to take.

So here I'll be posting ways in which you can use some monitors for fun. Maybe you can figure out some way to get back at people, but for me, it's just for fun. I intend to express in other forms, but maybe, just maybe, someone will pick something up and do something with it.

Oh, and not all of things on here will be evil, one or two might actually be of some sincere use, but still, it's fun to listen in on the listeners.

[EDIT] Ambient Intelligence doesn't exist yet per sé, but we're accelerating towards it with various technologies, some of which will be featured here.
